SUMMARY:Summer 2026 Internship Applications Open
DESCRIPTION:Red Creek offers two levels of summer wildlife care internships with a focus on training and education. Applications for these internships open on January 1st\, 2026. \nLevel 1 – \nAny individual looking for continued education in wildlife rehabilitation can apply for a level 1 intern position which runs from May through August each summer. Start and end dates are flexible due to various college schedules\, but interns must commit to one daytime and one evening six (6) hour shift per week\, plus one additional weekend shift per month\, for thirteen (13) consecutive weeks. \nThe Level 1 internship is a volunteer internship. It is unpaid and does not include travel or accommodations. What it does offer is an intense training program\, including classroom instruction and a hands-on experience with adult and baby wild animals\, including mammals\, songbirds\, waterfowl\, raptors\, and reptiles. \nLevel 2 – \nStudents who have completed a summer level 1 internship can apply for a level 2 internship within two years. Space is limited. \nThe level 2 internship program is a minimum wage paid position. It does not include travel or accommodations.

DESCRIPTION:Looking for something to do during winter break? Head on over to Red Creek Wildlife Center to watch the movie Epic* and meet a special guest after the show! \nSeats available for reservation soon! \nRed Creek will provide the movie\, blankets and cushions to spread out on the floor\, and popcorn for our guests. We will also have one of our ambassador animals available to say hi when the movie is complete. \nOur Education Building will be open from 12-4pm for you to explore before or after the movie. \nThe movie will begin at 1pm. Runtime is 1 hr 42 min. \nDue to limited capacity in our Education Center\, as well as to cover the cost of popcorn and space in the Center\, we are requiring registration ahead of time for children and accompanying adults! \n*We will test play Epic the day of\, and select an alternate\, similarly rated film if necessary.

Instructor -Peggy Hentz\n\n\n\nWildlife Capture and Transport Pennsylvania Certification Class\n\n\n\nThis all-day course is the first step in helping those seeking permits for the capture and transport of wildlife in Pennsylvania meet the state permitting requirements. \n\n\n\nThis  course covers the basics of wildlife capture in the field\, including legal issues\, safety\, equipment\, recognizing true emergencies\, proper capture and handling techniques. \n\n\n\nFollowing the class\, students will have one week to complete an online exam covering the material.
