A letter from our director,

It has been several months since we’ve updated our site. Well, there is a reason. We haven’t been writing about our work, we’ve been busy doing the work of caring for many orphaned, displaced and injured animals.

We have already taken in almost 400 animals this year, most of which arrived as babies in May and June. We have already raised and released many babies including songbirds, opossums, fox, bunnies, woodchucks and a ton of squirrels including a flying squirrel. We currently have fawn, a variety of baby hawks, falcons and owls, several dozen songbirds, opossums, bunnies and many, MANY skunks.

Friday, June 20th, we received a very special critical patient – a 1 to 2 year old bald eagle (Bald Eagles do not get the white head and tail until 4 years old). It was found on its back near railroad tracks in Catawissa, PA by a wonderful family. The family immediately took to the task of getting the bird help and contacted the Pennsylvania Game Commission. The bird arrived at Red Creek within 4 hours of being found.

I will be posting frequent updates on this wonderful bird – so stay tuned. We will also soon (when things calm down a bit here) be posting pictures of this year’s baby season, so please stop back often and see what’s new here at Red Creek.

Veiw His Story and Updates

Thank you,

Peggy
