A History of Service and Growth

Morrie Katz and Hannibal the Turkey Vulture

In 17 years of service, Red Creek has admitted over 8,000 wild patients. Approximately 70% of those animals have been released back into the wild. Those animals include all species of Pennsylvania wildlife including mammals, birds and reptiles.

Red Creek has presented over 550 public education programs to schools, scouting and civic groups as well as to the general public. These programs are always well-received and hundreds of letters have been sent by organizations, as well as individuals, to Red Creek expressing thanks and their approval of the presentations.
Over 100 volunteers have worked at Red Creek Wildlife Center, including high school and college students, as well as adults. Several students have gone on to work in careers in wildlife, zoological, conservation, education and veterinary services.

Red Creek has been featured in hundreds of newspaper articles and has appeared on 20 television programs including Pennsylvania Outdoor Life, Comcast Newsmakers, Comcast Tonight, several News Stations and various local programming.

Red Creek’s website, www.RedCreekWildlifeCenter.com receives over 180,000 visits each year from over 100,000 unique visitors.

Red Creek has sponsored 5 novice wildlife rehabilitators who then became licensed in the state. Of these, 3 are still active in wildlife rehabilitation.
Red Creek possesses ALL state and federal permits available to rehabilitators for education, as well as for animal care.
